Triplets for Heidi!
First time Mom, Heidi, had triplets on 4/22/12. We were very surprised
because she was carrying very low, and barely looked pregnant. She started early labor around 6:00 AM, and we checked
her every hour. We had just checked her at 11:20 AM and she was acting only mildly uncomfortable. Ten minutes
later she had us RUNNING out to the barn when we saw her on the barn cam starting to push. Within an hour, she delivered
all three kids (first a buck, then a doe, then another doe). The buck and second doe weighed about 2 3/4 pounds each,
and the first doe weighed 2 1/4 pounds. Within another hour all three kids were nursing like champs! Heidi is an absolute
"natural" at mothering and is extremely attentive. She even wakes the kids up every couple of hours to
nurse.
Way to go Heidi !! *********************************************************************************************************************************************

** Updated 11/14/10 **
Todd completed the addition to
the Nigerian's barn in early October of 2010. It doubles the living space of the barn, with two additional 8 X 10 stalls,
and an eleven foot long hay feeder that is accessible from both inside and outside. There's much less fighting going
on at feeding time now, and plenty of room for spring babies ;-)
We have a new addition to our herd in 2010. Twinkle Toes, also known
as Twinkie, is a rescue goat that joined our herd this past spring. Read more about her on the Twinkle Toes page. *********************************************************************
